Eliza is back enjoying her second summer at Longhaul. During the winter when the farm is sleeping, she spends her time painting. Eliza’s love of nature is apparent through her enthusiasm at Longhaul Farm and also shows through in her landscape paintings.

This past winter she completed several murals in local homes around the Lakes Region, though she has traveled farther as well. Sweeping views of Squam Lake add depth to a wall and character to a room. Painted windows complete with “trim work” fool the eye into believing trees and sky are on the other side, creating interest and brightening up a space.

Eliza also creates oil on canvas paintings inspired by our local natural places. Subjects vary from winter time mountain top panoramas to deep trail and woodland scenes filled with summer’s green hues. Her artwork reflects her admiration of the natural beauty around us. She hopes her paintings bring enjoyment to their viewers, reminding them how fortunate we are to be in such a lovely place and of the responsibility we share in keeping it that way.
