Farm Stand Share Program Survey

a coupon for your input

Hi there and greetings from Longhaul Farm,

My name is Willy McNally and I am doing a project at Plymouth State University in partnership with Longhaul Farm to understand the benefits and motivations of people to join Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) operations so Longhaul Farm can better serve its supporters. CSA’s are becoming a very important part of the success of small farms in an ever-growing global economy. A CSA is a program in which community members buy a certain share of the harvest for the season, and at the end of each week the members collect their share of the harvest. This spring time pre-buy of a share helps the farmer with the start up expenses, such as fertilizer and seedlings, and supporters share in the bounty of the harvest.

Longhaul Farm participates in a similar program, which we call the Longhaul Farm Annual Farm Stand Share Program. With the Longhaul Farm’s modified CSA you are able to choose from almost everything in the store, garden, and beyond. It can be anything from flowers to maple syrup and everything in between! There is no limit to what you can purchase and you are able to use this share throughout the 2009 season at your convenience. Your share may also be used at the Friday Night BBQ (which I strongly suggest) and the Saturday Morning Breakfast.

By letting us know your thoughts about CSAs and their benefits Longhaul Farms can better serve your needs, and those of others. Rest assured that all the information that you provide is confidential, and that you will be helping us learn important information.

For participating in this survey you will receive a five dollar coupon, which will be good for any food purchase of ten dollars or more during Longhaul Farm’s 2009 season. Please help us out by completing this survey by June 26th, 2009 so that this information can benefit this current season.

Thank you for your time, and we hope to see you at Longhaul Farm this season!
